Performance and Application of PE Ultra thick Plate

1、 Definition of PE ultra thick plate

PE ultra thick plate usually refers to polyethylene (HDPE, UHMWPE, etc.) sheets with a thickness of over 10mm, and some special applications can reach over 100mm. It has excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance and other properties, suitable for heavy-duty, high wear or strong corrosive environments.

2、 Main properties of PE ultra thick plate

1. High wear resistance (especially UHMWPE)

The wear resistance is 7-10 times that of carbon steel and 4-5 times that of nylon, making it suitable for high wear environments such as mining and transportation equipment.

Low friction coefficient (0.1~0.2), good self-lubricating performance, suitable for oil-free lubrication conditions.

2. Strong impact resistance

Even in low temperature environments ranging from -40 ℃ to 80 ℃, it maintains toughness and is not easily brittle.

3. Chemical corrosion resistance

Resistant to acid, alkali, salt, and organic solvents (such as dilute sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, etc.), suitable for lining chemical equipment.

4. Lightweight

The density is only 0.93-0.97g/cm ³, which is lighter than metal and easier to install and transport.

5. Electrical insulation&UV resistance (optional)

Non conductive, can be used for electrical insulation components; Some models have added anti UV agents, suitable for long-term outdoor use.

6. Sanitary and non-toxic (compliant with FDA/USP standards)

Suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries (such as cutting boards, conveyor belts).
