Introduction and Application of PE Board for Ice rinks

Ice rink PE board (polyethylene board) is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) board specially designed for ice rinks, ice hockey rinks, ice and snow parks, etc. It has the characteristics of wear resistance, impact resistance, low temperature resistance, low friction, etc., which can effectively protect the ice surface, extend the service life of the ice rink, and provide a safe sliding experience.

Characteristic Description

The wear resistance of UHMWPE is 7-10 times that of carbon steel, which can withstand long-term ice blade friction and reduce ice damage. Low temperature resistance maintains toughness within the range of -40 ℃~80 ℃, without brittle fracture, suitable for long-term use in low-temperature environments. The low friction coefficient surface is smooth (friction coefficient 0.1~0.2), close to the ice surface, ensuring smooth sliding. Strong impact resistance can withstand high-speed impacts such as ice hockey and popsicles, and is not easily cracked or deformed. Waterproof and moisture-proof, completely non absorbent, avoiding board expansion or corrosion caused by moisture. Resistant to chemical corrosion, saltwater, snow melting agents and other chemicals, suitable for indoor and outdoor ice rinks. Lightweight and low density (0.93-0.97g/cm ³), easy to transport and install.

Environmentally friendly and non-toxic, it meets FDA standards and can be used in food contact scenarios such as ice entertainment facilities.

Specific Application Scenarios and Uses

The ice rink enclosure system replaces traditional glass or acrylic panels as a collision barrier for ice hockey and skating rinks, which is safe and impact resistant.

The ice protection layer is laid under the ice layer to prevent ice skates from scratching the ground and extend the service life of the ice rink (especially suitable for temporary ice rinks).

Ice entertainment facilities such as slides, ice bumper car tracks, and ice and snow amusement park floors provide wear-resistant and anti slip surfaces. Athlete protective pads are used in the corners and goal areas of ice hockey rinks to cushion impacts and protect athlete safety. The snow melting agent protective plate is covered around the ice rink to prevent the snow melting agent from corroding the ground and facilitate cleaning. Simulated ice rink combined with special coating to create ice free synthetic ice surface, suitable for places without refrigeration conditions.
