Performance and Application of PP Welding Rod

PP welding rod (polypropylene welding rod) is a thermoplastic filler material specifically used for welding PP (polypropylene) plastic sheets and pipes. It has good fusion performance and chemical stability, and is widely used in equipment manufacturing and maintenance in industries such as chemical engineering, environmental protection, and water treatment.   

1、 Main properties of PP welding rod

1. Physical and chemical properties
-Material matching: Consistent with the composition of PP sheet/pipe (homopolymer PP or copolymer PP) to ensure welding strength.   
-Chemical resistance: acid, alkali, salt, and some organic solvents (such as hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide), not resistant to strong oxidants (such as concentrated nitric acid).   
-Melting temperature: approximately 160-200 ℃ (depending on PP type).   

2. Mechanical properties
-Tensile strength: After welding, the joint strength can reach 80% to 90% of the base material.   
-Flexibility: superior to PVC welding rods, suitable for dynamic load scenarios (such as chemical storage tanks).   

3. Thermal performance
-Thermal stability: Long term use temperature -10 ℃~100 ℃ (short-term 120 ℃).   

4. Environmental friendliness
-Non toxic and odorless, partially compliant with FDA food grade standards (used for welding food containers).
